About Widescreen Advocate

Widescreen Advocate was a not-for-profit group of film enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the artistic integrity of cinema. We believed that movies are works of art and should never be cropped when transferred to home video. This site remains a historical record of the community that fought to make Original Aspect Ratio (OAR) the industry standard.
